I – Sage ESS Maintenance

The first thing to do if you receive an Error 503 is to confirm ESS service. To achieve this, make sure the locked box is unchecked on the server where Sage 50 ESS is installed. Verify that the server, database, and username are accurate. Additionally, follow the procedures listed below to fix the Error 503

  • Access Sage 50 ServerAdministrative ToolsComponent Services by going there.
  • Make sure that the World Wide Web Publishing and IIS Admin Services are active.
  • Launch IIS Manager from the ESS Server.
  • Go to the Sites (folder) á Default Web Site à Self Service location. Go to Advanced settings by right-clicking self-service, choosing Manage Applications, and then
  • Make sure the Application Pool name is AbraAWCAppPool under the Advanced Setting tab.
  • When you get to Application Pools, make sure the Status must be Started and close the Advanced Settings panel.

II – Activate the Application Pool

When Error 503 pops up, check to see if Application Pool is turned on or off. To do this, take the following actions:

  • Select StartàAdministrative Tools and navigate to IIS Manager (Internet Information Services)
  • Search for Application Pools in the list of apps provided, then choose it.
  • Look for “WebClientPool” in the Applications Pool. as well as “MobileClientPool”
